LG announced the new Arena, a mid level phone, which is expected to be the flagship phone of the company for the year 2009. Although the company managed to keep most of its specifications secret until now, some of them were announced in a recent press release.

The LG Arena is supposed to feature a very dynamic and powerful S Class UI which will be highly competitive, making the touch phone stand out from everything else we knew so far. It will come with a 3D user interface and it will feature a 5-megapixel camera with video recording abilities, Wi-Fi for super fast internet connections, GPS and 3G.  It will be a GPRS,EDGE and UMTSHSDPA 1.8 Mbit mobile phone, with HSDPA 3.6 Mbit abilities.
LG Arena will come with a very functional media player, capable of reproducing all known audio formats , as well as fully compatible with digital video files such as  Real Video and DivX. It will feature a 3 inches and 262 144 colours TFT touch screen, a microSD memory slot and Stereo Bluetooth v.2.0 .
The size of the phone will be 105.9 x 55.3 x 11.9 mm and its weight will be 105gr with the Li-on battery.

Samsung announced recently the Samsung Tocco S8300Ultra GT which is expected to be launched in the UK towards the end of March. The handset is expected to be very convenient, with easy to navigate menu and well appointed details.It will feature a 2.8in touch screen, 16.8 colours and 240×400 pixels and QVGA resolution.

The Samsung Tocco, as most of the Samsung mobile phones, boasts an 8mp camera with dual power LED flash, autofocus abilities and geo tagging. Face and smile detection, as well as video recording abilities. The phone will come with a sophisticated media player, which will be compatible with all video and audio digital formats, including many codecs, especially Mpeg4 and DivX. GPS with Google Maps, FM radio with RDS and photo blogging will be available, while WAP browsing will be enabled. The phone will feature Bluetooth V.2.1 and USB v2.0 connectivity ,while the Net Front Browser On Board will allow html browsing in addition to the typical WAP.
According to the presentation, the Tocco will come out in platinum red and black.  It seems that the Samsung Tocco S8300Ultra GT is packed with quite many abilities that can meet the needs and requirements of several types of users.

Google has a great application for you now, available for mobile devices. Google Latitude it the application that broadcasts your location from your hand set, allowing your friends to know where you are exactly.

Latitude gives your exact and current location to your friends, using the Google Maps and the My location feature. It is the advanced and evolved version of geo tagging, but works in real time so as to give your friends the chance to know where you are. Google Latitude is not available on iPhone yet, although it is known that Google is working on launching a new version of the application for the Apple phones as well.

T Mobile UK released the MDA Vario IV, which is mostly inspired by the infamous HTC Raphael platform.  It is a new version of the HTC Touch Pro,  although larger, with more rounded edges. There is a big difference in the 3D Touch Flo menu, as featuring white and magenta colours. The handset includes a 128MB of System RAM, a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi enusring fast internet connections and Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro. It is powered by the MSM 7201A 528 Mhz Processor and boasta 512 mb of internal memory which is expandable up to 4GB with a micro SD card.

Among the features of the T Mobile MDA Vario IV are a built in accelerometer allowing the full auto rotation of the screen, FM radio with RDS and a proprietary mini-USB port,a Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR. The MDA Vario IV offers tri band support, HDSPA 7.2Mbps USB and full GPS connectivity are also available.
